I have been working online with clients and groups since 2014. I began with Skype and I have now switched to Zoom.
It may seem strange at first to be having therapy using this format, but we quickly get use to the technology and settle into our therapeutic relationship and get on with the sessions.
I am very happy to be able to support clients from all over the country and world with their mental health and wellbeing using online tools.
Advantages of Online sessions:
I started delivering Hypnotherapy appointments online when one of my clients was working away a lot and could not keep enough continuity with the face-to-face appointments. We had sessions on laptops, tablets and even smartphone, in friends’ garden rooms, hotel rooms, you name it! The point was: it worked well, with both our commitments on our side, and the therapeutic benefits continued to increase.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be done anywhere, so long as you are comfortable, have an internet connection and can be undisturbed, benefiting from privacy, for the duration of the session.
Online therapy is ideal as a way of keeping continuity between face to face appointments when you are away for work or studies or when we are in lockdown.
Or it can also be the main or sole way of conducting therapy, with all sessions being online. Such is the case with some of my clients who are students, have moved, live in rural areas, cannot leave the house easily or during lockdown.
From experience, I know that the therapeutic benefits of online sessions are equal to those gained from meeting in the same room. Current research also supports this.
Furthermore, some people prefer this option as it saves them time traveling to and from the clinic or allows them to keep their international lifestyle.
How it works:
Each Hypnotherapy session lasts between 50 minutes and is conducted in the same way as face to face sessions.
Once the time of your initial online consultation has been confirmed after a chat via email or phone, I will send you a confirmation email containing details on how to access Zoom, how to pay me online and links to my website that you need to look at.
What is needed on your side is: A good online connection, preferably via a computer, laptop or tablet and a nice and quiet environment for your session where we won’t be disturbed. Some people like to use headphones, but that is not necessary. Make sure you have your phone with you just in case we have connectivity issues, and we are good to go.
