Combining clinical hypnotherapy with meditation and Qigong
I believe people have the resources within themselves to make the changes they wish to their lives. I believe all individuals have innate wisdom and love within themselves. My job is to help them find it or nurture it and support them in growing into who they really are.
My work applies clinical and practical spiritual approaches to support healing and growth. This is a safe and compassionate space and holistic environment.

About me
Hello, my name is Stephanie Betschart, aka Padmadrishti my buddhist name. I am a hypnotherapist, a Qigong teacher, resilience trainer and a meditator.
I am an experienced clinical and solution focused Hypnotherapist, having qualified at the Clifton Practice in Bristol, a renowned centre of excellence in the field. I have practised since 2008, specialising in helping people recover from anxiety, depression, and IBS. It is delightful to be part of people’s journey toward confidence and resilience, especially at critical junctures in their lives.
I have practised Qigong from the Hua gong lineage since 2011. I had the privilege to study with Zhixing Wang himself and other skilled teachers in the Hua gong, Neigong and Taijiwuxigong traditions. I began teaching Qigong in 2017.
I am passionate about resilience and used my former experience of teaching and one-to-one work to create the Embodied Resilience course.
My Journey and Values
I have always been fascinated by the workings of the mind and why people do what they do. I am interested in what makes us healthy, balanced individuals and what supports us to grow, become more than the sum of our parts and find our place and expression in the world.
It led me to meditation and the study of Buddhist ethics and philosophy (my Buddhist name is Padmadrishti). My spiritual path means that I have a rich personal experience of working directly with the mind and the heart through meditation, workshops, and periods of intense retreat.
Around the same time, I discovered hypnotherapy whilst trying to find answers to my own difficulties with anxiety and low self-esteem. I realised that it was a way of training one’s mind that was complementary with meditation. It can help turn things around and build inner strength. Eventually I came to train in it to support others.
Some health issues have made me quite aware that without good health it is difficult to remain confident and thrive in life. It was for health reasons initially that I went back to Qigong in 2011. I found much more wisdom in it than I expected.
I am on a journey of integration, and I am fascinated by how talking therapy, body work and meditation relate to, and support, each other. I am finding more and more bridges between all of it, which informs and deepens the way I work with people. It leads to remarkable results when my clients embrace it.
